PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy is effective as of August 1, 2010 and describes the current policies and practices of Laser Devices, Inc. in connection with the information we may receive or collect in connection with the User’s visit to this site or in connection with a purchase of LDI products through this site.  By using this site, you consent to our collection and use of your personal information as described herein.  LDI reserves the right to change this policy at any time.  Any changes will take affect proactively and not retroactively. In all cases you can browse LDI’s website without giving any LDI any personally identifiable information.

LDI's Privacy Policy is as follows:


1.  Types of Information Gathered.   As part of your visit to this Site, LDI may collect certain personally identifiable information and anonymous information relating to your visit as described below:

  1. Personally Identifiable Information.  You may, during your visit, elect to voluntarily provide LDI with personally identifiable information.  LDI will use and retain that person information for the purpose for which it is provided.  Personally Identifiable Information is defined as information that identifies who you are and may include your name, address, telephone number, fax number, email address, financial information (including credit card numbers or bank references), date of birth, credit information, employer identification number, customer preferences, drivers license and other personal and personally identifiable information.   As part of gathering this information, LDI may ask you for your name, E-mail address, phone number, address, business, customer preferences as well as other personal and financial information.
  2. Anonymous Information (Cookies).  LDI’s site may place or transfer a cookie (an alpha-numeric) identifier to your computer hard drive for the purposes identified in this site.  You expressly consent to the placement of the cookie on your computer by accessing the LDI Site.  These cookies may be used to gather information about your browsing habits on this site, visits to links on this site, the time you spend on specific pages, the days and times that you visit this site, the country in which you are located, the type of browser software you are using and other technical information.  LDI does not store any personal information, passwords other information in the cookies, or associate your Personally Identifiable Information with the cookies.

2.  Use of Personal Information.  The Personal Information that you supply to LDI will be used to enhance the operation of the site, fill orders, improve our marketing and sales efforts, customize our product offerings to our customers and to customize our site’s content.  We may also use this Personal Information to contact you for purposes of delivering information about your order, or to notify you of new or additional existing products and services. This information may also be provided to LDI’s contractors, agents and consultants that may be hired from time-to-time for purposes of assisting LDI in its marketing and sales efforts.  The information you provide, including customer account information, may be provided to credit bureaus, attorneys and government agencies for purposes of complying with the law, to protect the rights, property and safety of Laser Devices, Inc., our employees and customers. 

Personal Information you provide may also be used by LDI, its successors and assigns to keep you advised of new products, product modifications and to supply you with other information concerning LDI, LDI products and affiliated products and services. We may also use this information to inform you about other types of products offered by affiliates, vendors and suppliers that may appeal to your interest in firearms, shooting sports and recreational equipment.  In addition, we may also use this information to send you newsletters, press releases; notification of product improvements, product defects and other issues, or marketing events and trade shows that LDI will attend.  

3.  Violations of Law   LDI also may, in its sole discretion, provide any Personal Information (without a subpoena and without notice to you) to any government agencies investigating criminal activities, terrorists, financial crimes, suspicious transactions, fraud, fraudulent use of official titles and potential export violations.

  1. Information Provided by Children.  Children below the age of fourteen (14) are not eligible to use or post any information to the LDI site.  Upon receiving notice that it has received Personal Information from a child below the age fourteen, LDI will delete any personal information it has retained.
  2. Disclosure of Third Parties Who Receive Personal Information for Marketing Purposes.  In accordance with the laws of California, individual customers located in the U.S. may request information about LDI’s disclosures their personally identifiable information to third parties for direct marketing or sales purposes.  All such requests will be made to the mailing address listed in the Copyright and Trademark section below.  Responses will attempt to be made in 30 days or less.  This information can only be requested once per calendar year.
  3. Removal or Correction of Personal Information from LDI Marketing Database.  In the event you decide that you do not want to receive any additional future communications from LDI (Email, facsimile or written), you may request that your name be removed from LDI's marketing database by contacting: Sales and Marketing Department, Laser Devices, Inc., 70 Garden Court, Monterey, California 93940, or you may make your request by facsimile to (831) 373-0903 or by E-mail to sales@laserdevices.com.  You must mention specifically the information that you wish to have removed or changed.  LDI will not delete any information regarding past purchases of LDI products including any product registration information or any comments regarding LDI’s performance or regarding service and repair requests, defects or product improvements.  In addition, it may be impossible to remove all information from backups and archived files. Note, we cannot remove information from third party databases.
  4. Security for Personal Information.  LDI will take the security precautions it deems responsible to maintain the security of personal information you have supplied.  LDI, however, cannot assume any responsibility for the loss, corruption, theft or misappropriation of personal information in the event the security of our site is compromised.  Nor can LDI offer any commitment regarding the security of third-party databases which may maintain Personal Information.
  5. Credit Card Information.    When credit card information is received in connection with a purchase, LDI will use security measures to encrypt or otherwise scramble your credit card information as it travels over the Internet.   LDI limits access to credit card information to a minimal number of trusted employees and will only use reputable third party financial institutions to handle credit card transactions.
  6.  Inventor and Creative Submissions.  Any information submitted that contains recommendations for product improvements, new products, new concepts for products, new methods of assembling, testing or selling products, customer names, sales opportunities, marketing slogans, cool pictures of (LDI products, users, guns, music, videos, motorcycles, cars, trucks and aircraft) or other sales, marketing information or inventor information will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary, and LDI shall be free to make use of this information, pictures, music without compensation, credit, acknowledgement or other attribution to the author, inventor or creator.  Submitters, unless otherwise agreed, waive on behalf of entities and persons pictured or depicted any personality or privacy rights relating to such submissions.
